About this place
At Music Bar Onkai, curry can be as much of a reason to come for a meal as drinks are. The menu lists curry plates with pork and rapeseed greens, lemon keema with salmon and whitebait, and octopus with new potatoes. One diner recorded ordering a plate with two kinds of curry, a tempting option for sampling more than one flavour at once.
During a separate guest curry service, another diner enjoyed a plate of three curries—kabosu chicken, octopus and potato with basil, and chickpeas with yellow beetroot—served with pickles. They found all three spicy and singled out the chickpea curry as their favourite. The curry selection may vary over time, so check ahead if you have your heart set on trying several kinds.
Live music is another feature of the bar; a visitor noted that it has a grand piano. On a night with a performance, you could settle in with a beer and curry or the daily food selection. Sapporo Draft Beer Black Label is listed at ¥650, and a Hoppy set at ¥600; sours, wine and whisky are also available.
